The Netherlands presents its knowledge and experience in water related issues to the world
Human Capital Water & Delta (HCW&D), a program coordinated by the Netherlands Water Partnership, sets up and coordinates an innovative student event called Student Participation Program, that presents the Dutch water education in the Holland Water Week. Johan Oost, member of HCW&D on behalf of DHV, is project leader of this event and shall supervise the students during the stay in Shanghai.
The objective of the Student Participation Program is to develop a broader understanding of the water management issues that the world is currently facing and especially in China. The Program provides cases in which Dutch and Chinese students participate to come up with innovative and co-creative solutions for some selected cases. At the same time, the Dutch students shall be trained to act as ambassadors for the Dutch water education programs. This includes a study to China and contact with the Chinese students.
After the preparation in Holland, the students fly to China to meet there Chinese counterparts. They are going to work out the water issues in Shanghai. The final results shall be presented at the World Expo during the Holland Water Week. Each group of students has to make a pitch and a poster. The pitches shall be awarded by a jury. During a poster market each attendee may glue a sticker on his/her favorite poster. The poster which has the most stickers by the public wins.
In the evening of 7th of June the presentations of the students shall be held in the Holland VIP Pavilion. This event shall also be used to promote the Dutch Water education programs in Shanghai. For more information: contact Johan Oost; johan.oost@dhv.com
